Applying for jobs

Prepare for a job application

Free practice for your next job application, with no account needed to start.

CV review

See how your CV reads against a job description.

Upload your CV and, if you have it, the job ad. An AI recruiter reads them, shows you where your CV makes the case for this job and where it doesn't, and agrees a short list of changes with you. Free, with no account needed to start.

What you get back:

  • Where your CV already fits the job
  • What the job asks for that your CV doesn't show
  • Specific changes to make, agreed with you (you make the edits, in your own words)

Mock interview

Practise the interview for a job description you bring.

Share the job description, and your CV if you have one. An AI hiring manager interviews you for that role and follows up on your answers. Free, with no account needed to start.

What you get back:

  • What came across well
  • Where your answers were thin
  • Your debrief afterwards, with things to consider

Take-home assignment presentation

Got a take-home assignment? Practise presenting it before the interview.

Share the task brief and your submission. An AI interviewer who has read both asks why you made your choices and follows up on your answers. Then you see, claim by claim, what you can explain and what to prepare. Free, with no account needed to start.

What you get back: a claim-by-claim debrief

  • What you explained well
  • What was shaky
  • What you couldn't explain
  • What to prepare before the real interview

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. All three are free to use, and you don't need an account to start. 10 minutes of voice free, and 10 more when you add your email. Text is always available, including after voice time runs out.

What happens to what I upload?

We keep the text of what you submit and use it to improve Tacit. Don't upload anything you've agreed to keep confidential. You can ask us to delete it at any time: hello@tacit.coach

More detail is in our privacy notice.

What can I upload?

PDF, Word (.docx), plain text, PNG or JPG, up to 5 MB each. For slides, export your deck to PDF first.

What if I have more than 1,500 words?

Up to about 1,500 words in all for one practice: for example, a CV and a job description, or a task brief and your submission. If you share more, the end may be cut, so paste the parts that matter most.

Does it rewrite my CV?

No. The CV review shows you where your CV makes the case for the job and where it doesn't, and agrees a short list of changes with you. You make the edits, in your own words.

Can I practise a coding take-home?

Code repositories aren't supported. Describe what the code does and why, or paste the key parts as text.

Am I talking to a real person?

No. Each tool is an AI: a recruiter for the CV review, a hiring manager for the mock interview, and an interviewer who has read your brief and submission for the take-home.

Can I come back to my debrief?

Yes, for 90 days on the same browser. Add your email and we'll send you a link back to your conversation and debrief. On another device, log in with the email you added.
